About Kristen"Where is the lady that has my song?"
Five-year-old patient "Today, you touched the hearts of so many people who are at at the deepest, lowest part of their existence. Your theme will always be: 'Where is the lady that has my song?'" Hospital staff member |
Using music to help people through difficult times is a privilege and an honor for me.
I have loved and made music since I was small. I play (or have played) piano, harp, guitar, viola, and fiddle. I have taught piano, conducted choirs, sung in auditioned choirs, and received a BA with a music emphasis. When I learned that there is a profession of bringing healing music to the bedside, I knew I needed to change my career path. I graduated from the Music for Healing and Transition Program (TM) in May 2015. Now, as Certified Music Practitioner® I use Celtic harp, guitar, and voice to help patients--those who have just entered the world, those who are leaving, and those who have a variety of conditions. The quiet, vibrating tones through beautiful music create a healing atmosphere according to the patient's needs. I live in Salt Lake City, Utah, and have a lot of varied experiences and skills beyond music! See my resume here. |
